2025 Footprints Advocacy Highlights

About Us - Autism NDIS Support - Footprints Advocacy

As the year draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for trusting me to support you and your child throughout 2025.

Every family and every child I work with matters deeply to me. It is a privilege to walk alongside you, to listen to your stories, and to advocate for the supports your child needs to thrive. Your children inspire me daily with their resilience, determination and individuality, and it is an honour to be part of their journey.

This year has once again shown how powerful the right therapy plans and evidence-based supports can be. When funding truly reflects a child’s functional needs, we see meaningful progress — in communication, independence, regulation, participation and family wellbeing.

These outcomes are the reason I do this work, and I am so grateful to share these wins with you.

Our Annual Highlights include:

6 ART Cases Completed with 6 pending

18  Annual Reviews completed with 15 pending

That’s a total of 45 families who have been supported and received (or waiting to receive) a Reasonable and Necessary NDIS Plan over the past 12 months.

Largest NDIS Plans:

Boy aged 8 years, ASD L 3, Severe ID – $232,698.39

Boy aged 2.5 yrs, Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) – $338,755.50

Girl aged 3.5 yrs, Cerebral Palsy L4, Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), GDD – $209,239

Average Plan Size: $73,787.46

What can we achieve together next?

As we head into 2026, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your child’s current NDIS plan and whether it still truly meets their needs. Children grow and change quickly, and plans that were once appropriate can become outdated. If you would like support reviewing your plan, preparing for a review, or planning next steps for the year ahead, please feel free to get in touch through the link below.

You may have recently heard about Thriving Kids, a new Australian Government reform designed to improve how children with developmental difference, delay or disability are identified and supported early. Thriving Kids focuses on strengthening mainstream and community supports for children aged 8 and under, particularly those with low to moderate support needs, so families can access help earlier and closer to where they live.

Importantly, children with significant and permanent disability support needs will continue to be supported through the NDIS, and existing participants will not be removed without careful consideration, reassessment and transition planning. The first Thriving Kids services are expected to begin rolling out from 1 July 2026, ahead of broader NDIS changes planned from mid-2027.

As these reforms continue to evolve, having the right therapy evidence and a well-prepared plan remains critical to ensuring children receive the supports they need to thrive — whether within or alongside the NDIS.
